I feel like I haven’t been keeping this blog up to date with the major happenings in my life, so I’m going to drop them all at once and see where that takes us.

1. I started a new job two weeks ago and I really like it. I get to walk to work, I work alongside incredibly talented and smart people, and the nature of the work is fast-paced AND organized. #Winning

2. We bought a house! Actually, I guess it is technically a condo. We started looking for a place back in July and after a couple heartbreaks, we found the perfect spot to start the next chapter of our lives in Chicago.

For those of us that are Chicago geographically challenged, I made a map.

We currently live in The Loop, which has been fantastic. We love our condo (we rent), we have spectacular views, and ALL the CTA stops are within a block from our place.

At the same time, we want a little more of a neighborhood and a place we can call our own. We looked at dozens of places and eventually found the most spectacular building up in Lincoln Park. We were not looking at moving up that far north, but it happened. That job I have that I can walk to? Not for long. I’m about to get very familiar with the bus. Totally worth it.

3. We hit the half way mark with business school. My husband is a full time MBA student and sometime in the last month, we made the transition from first-years to second-years. Business school has surpassed both of our expectations and the last year has been incredible. How I ended up with a man that is handsome and business badass is beyond my comprehension. Again, #winning.

4. I decided to put my health first. I’ve had amenorrhoea for the past two years and haven’t made a real effort to correct the issue. I always figured it was stress, and would correct itself the following month. Over the past year, I’ve seen a nutritionist and an acupuncturist without any improvement, so over the past month, I have been working with two great doctors that are working to get my body back on the right track. I’ve stopped running and took a HUGE step back with my exercise routine to help with the issue. Obviously, this is a bit personal and not the easiest topic to share with internet strangers, but I’ve found a lot of support and encouragement reading other blog posts on the subject, so here it is.

This book was recommended to me to shed some light on the issue. I strongly dislike the title and I am completely embarrassed to be seen with this book in public, but I have been reading it in the privacy of my bedroom and it has some great insight and advice that is making sense.

There you have it. My life in a nutshell. Big things are happening over here.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Name that movie.
